The Stop Adani Belgrave group last week revealed the results of a community survey to La Trobe MP, Jason Wood.
Group member Emmanuelle Emile-Blake said the results were clear – the community did not support the development of the mine in North Queensland.
Ms Emile-Blake said 280 of the 281 people surveyed declared their opposition to the mine, statistics she relayed to Mr Wood.
“We also called on Jason Wood to take a stronger stand in support of the reef, farmers and the environment, and to protect Australians from the changes to our climate that burning the coal from the mine would cause,” she said.
