Conservation Regulator officers and wildlife officers will be out in force this weekend ensuring state forest visitors abide to Covid-19 restrictions.

All public land will be open for day use activities, with some exceptions.

Camping and overnight activities are not permitted and the rule of maintaining a distance of 1.5 metres between people still exists.

Gatherings of up to 10 people are now permitted in outdoor spaces.

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning has urged park or forest visitors to bring hand sanitiser and be mindful of others.

Chief conservation regulator Kate Gavens said officers will be making sure everyone visiting state forests does the right thing.

“Conservation Regulator officers will be out across Victoria this weekend to make sure people are maintaining physical distancing and are in groups of 10 or less,” she said.

“Thank you to everyone who is doing the right thing and remember, the message remains the same: if you can stay at home, you must stay at home.”

The Conservation Regulator is supporting Victoria Police, reporting any physical distancing breaches.
