For those in Mount Evelyn looking for something fun to do these school holidays then Curbside Carnies might be the answer.

The circus inspired free program is returning to the local area in just over a weeks time, to bring holiday happiness to children from around the area.

Supported by Yarra Ranges Council as part of its Art Attack 2.0 program, the CovidSafe circus workshop will be returning on Sunday 16 January this time at Lillydale Lake.

It’s the perfect place to learn a new skill, develop an old one or put yourself outside your comfort zone.

If you weren’t able to attend one of the previous events, then this one is a ‘must not miss’.

Although it’s mostly for the kids, it’s open to all ages, with mums and dads welcomed to join in the fun.

Parents who attended the Curbside Carnies hosted in December at Chirnside Park, Selby and Yarra Junction couldn’t resist the urge to get involved themselves.

“When we brought our kids, we, as adults, thought we’ll have some quiet time in a shade under the trees. But we couldn’t resist the temptation to join the fun kids were having! Hula hooping and learning tricks (oh my, who would’ve thought it’s so hard!), hooping with kids and without. And of course the acro tricks! Those are the highlights of the amazing day we had,” one parent said.

“My son (and I) had a great time with at the Chirnside event. Definitely inspired to get a hula hoop and practice,” another parent added.

With performance professionals, children can learn circus skills in a safe environment and perhaps find a new passion for the art of hula hooping, tumbling, tricks and more.

“My daughter (6) attended the workshop at Selby and loved it! The facilitators were engaging, warm, friendly and fun. The workshop suited all age levels (even my 1 year old got involved) and my daughter learnt skills and confidence that she has been practicing at home (hula hoops, juggling, dance).”
