Mount Evelyn commuters who rely on the Lilydale train line will experience some disruptions with buses replacing trains.

Works on the under passes at Lilydale and Mooroolbark stations are being undertaken by Level Crossing Removal Project teams, meaning trains have stopped running for two days this week.

Buses are replacing trains from Ringwood to Lilydale from 8.30pm Monday 14 February to last service Wednesday 16 February.

The works are being carried out 24/7 to build the community open space areas, station car parking and station precinct landscaping.

During this time, Mooroolbark station’s facilities will be closed between 11pm and 5am each night.

Traffic management will also be in place with Manchester Road in Mooroolbark reduced to single lane traffic both ways from Monday 14 February to Thursday 17 February.

Maroondah Highway in Lilydale will experience intermittent lane closures and disruptions until March.

Temporary car parks are still be used, with with new car parking areas expected to open in Lilydale early this year, while the new 900-space car park in Mooroolbark will open in autumn.
