
Victoria Police have charged two men after alleged fraudulent building works were carried out across the Yarra Ranges.
The men, who are Irish nationals, approached older, more vulnerable members of the community in the Hallam, Kilsyth and Mooroolbark areas.
The pair, aged 26-years-old and 24-years old, allegedly told victims their roofs were in need of repair, before getting up on the roof and breaking tiles.
Victims were charged tens of thousands of dollars for substandard, unfinished, or in some cases no work at all.
The men were arrested on the Thursday 10 April, and have since been charged with attempt to obtain property by deception, obtain property by deception and possessing the proceeds of crime.
The men were bailed to appear at a later court date.
