Victoria Police will temporarily reduce reception counter hours at Mooroolbark Police Station.
Mooroolbark Police Station’s reception will now be open between 9.15am and 4.45pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
This is being done as Victoria Police prioritises releasing police from desk duties to bolster the number of officers in the community preventing and responding to crime.
Outside of times when the reception counter is closed, Mooroolbark will maintain 24/7 police patrols.
The nearest 24-hour station is Lilydale Police Station, which is 5 km away.
The updated reception hours reflect times when the community is most likely to attend a police station. This is during the day for assistance with administrative matters, including signing statutory declarations.
In an emergency, the community is always directed to call Triple Zero (000) or for non-urgent reports call the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.
