Emergency crews respond to two car collision, one person taken to hospital

Emergency service crews were called to a two car collision in Lilydale earlier today where an elderly lady was taken to hospital.

The incident occurred around 8.50am on Wednesday 2 November at the intersection of David Road and Swansea Road, blocking one lane of traffic heading towards Mount Evelyn.

Paramedics and SES crews from Lilydale responded to the call of a person trapped in one of the vehicles.

“A woman in her 80s was taken to Maroondah Hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries,” an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.

Police were also in attendance guiding traffic around the incident which was still being assessed and waiting for tow trucks just before 10am.

Lilydale SES shared the incident on social media asking drivers to be mindful.

“Please be patient as crews work to clear the scene. Please avoid the area if possible and remember, 40km/h when passing stationary emergency vehicles with lights operating,” the post read.
