Trains disrupted on Lilydale Line, delays expected

Buses are replacing trains on the Lilydale Line between Ringwood and Mooroolbark due to an equipment fault.

Trains will continue to operate between Flinders Street and Ringwood, and between Mooroolbark and Lilydale, with delays likely.

“We ask passengers to check station platform displays, listen for announcements, and allow extra time for their journey,” a Department of Transport spokesperson said.

Authorised Officers will assist passengers changing between trains and buses at Ringwood.

Passengers may also consider using local bus services on route 670 between Lilydale and Ringwood.

Motorists are asked to be vigilant for extra pedestrians and buses around train stations on the Lilydale Line.

The VicRoads signals team is monitoring conditions in the area and will adjust traffic lights to assist with bus movements.

Real-time traffic conditions are available at traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au or via the VicTraffic mobile app. The latest public transport information and network status is available at ptv.vic.gov.au or in the PTV mobile app.
