Buses replace trains on Lilydale line from tonight

Train and bus passengers are advised of changes in the eastern suburbs over the next few months, as crews work to remove the level crossings on Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert and Union Road, Surrey Hills.

Buses will replace trains on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines between Camberwell and Box Hill, and at times between Camberwell and Ringwood, from 8.30pm Friday, 17 February until late-May.

During these works, crews will work around the clock to dig a 1.3km trench for the new rail line, demolish the existing Surrey Hills Station and rail infrastructure, carefully dismantle Mont Albert Station for relocation, and complete construction of the new Union Station.

Passengers are encouraged to visit ptv.vic.gov.au/disruptions for more information and to plan their journey.
