Serious road rage investigation

A Croydon man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a fellow driver to the point of life-threatening injury.

It is believed a road rage incident occurred between two vehicles travelling along Bayswater Road between Eastfield Road and Canterbury Road about 7.45pm on Friday 19 September.

Both vehicles stopped at the intersection of Bayswater Road and Canterbury Road just before 8pm, when it is believed the offender dragged the victim out of his car.

The victim was seriously assaulted, and the offender fled the scene.

A 52-year-old Officer man was taken to hospital, where he remains with life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested a 32-year-old Croydon man in Croydon about 6am on Saturday and he was said to be assisting police with their enquiries.

Maroondah Crime Investigation detectives are keen to speak to any witnesses and anyone who may have been in the area at the time with dash cam footage.
