Thoughts of Yarra Ranges Council with victims of Bondi shooting

Yarra Ranges Council extends its deepest condolences to everyone affected by the horrific events at Bondi Beach on Sunday 14 December.

Our thoughts are with all victims and their loved ones, and we stand in solidarity with the Jewish community during this heartbreaking time.

At a time when we should be celebrating togetherness and peace, we condemn this senseless act of violence and reaffirm our commitment to diversity, inclusion and unity.

Yarra Ranges Council Mayor Richard Higgins said the tragedy has shaken communities across Australia.

“Our hearts go out to those who have lost loved ones and to everyone impacted by this horrific act. Yarra Ranges is a place that values compassion, respect and unity, and we will continue to stand together against violence and hate”.

As a mark of mourning and respect, flags flew at half-mast on Monday 15 December.
